Carrying a trading position at ground level is tough enough. At 30,000 feet, it can be downright nerve-wracking.

No one knows that better than Chuck Hughes. When he started trading in 1984, Hughes was a full-time commercial airline pilot. Monitoring his trading positions from the cockpit was not an option. "It was frustrating at times," he said. "I would have to wait until the evenings to get my price quotes."

Hughes' profession is actually what led him to trading in the first place. His schedule of 15 to 17 days off each month created a void, and trading was the perfect answer. Success came quickly as Hughes finished 10th in the 1985 United States Trading Championship and 3rd in the 1986 competition with a whopping 260% return.

Chuck has accumulated titles in the Systems Trading Division of the World Cup Championship of Futures Trading® in 1994 and 1995 and the Day Trading Division in 1995 and the Professional Division in 1999. In the World Cup Championship of Stock Trading™  he finished first in 2007, second in 2006, first in 2005 and third in 2003.

Chuck has been trading for 24 years and his trading strategies have produced more than four million dollars of actual profits during all types of market conditions. When he is not trading or writing educational courses, Chuck finds time to maintain a 4.0  league tennis rating and competes in 5K running events. But his mind is not very far from the challenge of trading. "I get some of my best trading ideas while running," he says.
